For the last decade, online discussion boards have been stagnant, offering only threaded discussions that were hard to follow and discouraged engagement. Because Harmonize models its functionality on popular social media platforms, it’s easier--and more fun--for students to engage in discussion in a way that feels natural to them. Harmonize meets all learners where they are by engaging the student regardless of learning style, preference or ability. Ultimately, we deliver a powerful discussion platform for students where they can have a richer, more in-depth, and equitable discussion around the academic topics that interest them than traditional discussion boards currently offer.
You can now add a quick poll to check for understanding, assess students, review content, or even take attendance! And this polling feature is available both within a Harmonize Discussion, or as a stand alone activity - graded or ungraded. Another great way to gather that RSI data so essential in online learning environments.
Add mathematical formulas, equations, and terms from the ADA Compliant Equation Editor. Found in the text row of the Harmonize Editor, the Equation Editor allows for both Simple View for typing math formulas, or Advanced View for entering LaTex Commands. Equations can be added to any Topic, Post, or Comment in a Harmonize Discussion.

A Q&A Board can be set up for students to answer each others’ questions, let it stay up all term, and check it occasionally for activity. Avoid repeated questions from students and share information in one place.
